At Shlomzion there is no greater joy then gladdening the hearts of jewish orphans, widows and those who cannot afford their basic needs. On Purim we celebrate being part of a people who has throughout the generations survived on miracles. The Jewish people are one unit – we can not possibly enjoy the holiday if poor people don’t have enough. It is better to spend more on gifts to the poor (Matanot La'evyonim) than on Mishloach Manot. The gift of your donation is meant to create unity. and to spread the pleasure of feeling cared for and loved, it is also meant to open the hearts of both giver and recipient.
